When you contribute to United Way, you're helping your neighbors through 45 health and human care agencies. And your donations stay right here where we do our best to make sure they do their best.
 
 Did you know?

 

Last year, your investment in our local United Way helped more than 9,900 youth receive mentoring, after school care, food, clothing, support and/or education.

 

Your donation gave strength, safety and health to over 49,300 families, who needed counseling, shelter, development, and/or medical and prescription assistance.

 

With your contribution, close to 7,200 individuals received transportation, resident care, home delivered meals, tutoring and/or financial stability to help keep them self-sufficient in their homes.

 

Your gift to our local United Way provided 223,381 nutritious home delivered meals to elderly shut-ins.

 

Because of you, 92,808 residents were offered food, shelter, utilities assistance and clothing in emergency situations.

 

More than 90,600 meals were served to the homeless because you gave from your heart.

 

Your support helped assist 1,627 residents in receiving FREE tax services, which allowed county residents to receive money back through the Earned Income Tax Credits helping their financial stability.

 

Your partnership with United Way facilitated the distribution of prescription drug cards that saved county residents a total of $555,989 on medications.

 

Overall, more than 157,000 people were impacted by a United Way Community Partner agency in 2010 because you invested in creating lasting changes!

The lives of thousands of local people are improving. Your contribution to United Way of Horry County is an investment into the most efficient and effective programs that provide the greatest impact on the lives of people living in your own backyard.   
 

The Difference Your Donation Makes In
a Year
 

$1 a week provides a meal and safe haven to a family of four.

 

$2 a week provides 5 weeks of after school care for an at-risk child.


$3
a week provides support to 13 students who appear to have a learning difficulty such as dyslexia.


$4
a week provides utility assistance to 3 families for a whole month.

 

$5 a week provides an average of 3 doctor visits, blood work, tests, some medical procedures and medications for one patient for a whole year.

 

$10 a week can provide two full days of counseling, housing, childcare, food and social services for an abused victim and their family..
